FAQ: FAQ

WHAT IS AN EASYFLO MENSTRUAL CUP?

An EasyFlo menstrual cup is a product made of soft medical-grade silicone and is inserted into the vagina to collect menstrual fluid.

HOW LONG DO EASYFLO MENSTRUAL CUPS LAST?

EasyFlo menstrual cups are reusable. They last for up to 5-10 years with good care.

ARE EASYFLO MENSTRUAL CUPS COMFORTABLE AND EASY TO USE?

If inserted properly, the woman wearing an EasyFlo cup will not be able to feel it at all. In addition, cups can hold up to 3x more menstrual fluid –  they can be worn for up to 12 hours. Because blood is not exposed to air, no odour is produced.

CAN VIRGINS USE EASYFLO MENSTRUAL CUPS?

We believe that a person only loses their virginity when they have sexual intercourse. Using an EasyFlo cup can result in the hymen being broken or stretched – in the same way as riding a bike can also affect the hymen. In our opinion, none of these activities can make a person not a "virgin" anymore.

HOW DO I KNOW WHEN TO EMPTY THE EASYFLO CUP?

We recommend to empty it 2-3 times per day, leaving it in no more than twelve hours without emptying it. As you use it more often, you’ll be able to learn how frequent you actually need to empty it before it becomes full.

CAN I USE A LUBRICANT TO INSERT THE EASYFLO CUP?

We recommend using only water-based lubricant, because oil- based ones can damage the silicone.

CAN ONE SWIM WHILE USING AN EASYFLO  CUP?

Yes. EasyFlo cups form a"seal" inside the vagina when inserted properly; thus, there's no room for leaks.

HOW DO I EMPTY MY EASYFLO IN PUBLIC TOILETS?

Wash your hands and take a bottle of water into the cubicle with you. After emptying the cup, rinse with water and re-insert. Remember, EasyFlo can collect more menstrual blood than sanitary pads or tampons, so you can empty it less often as you would need to change tampons or pads.

CAN EASYFLO CUPS BE SHARED?

No. EasyFlo menstrual cups are intended for personal use only.

HOW DO I KNOW IF I SHOULD TRIM THE STEM OR NOT?

The stem helps you reach the bottom of the EasyFlo cup, assisting in removal. Ideally, the stem should not protrude from the vulva. If it does cause any discomfort, then you may want to try trimming it (but don’t trim it completely).

CAN A PERSON WHO HAS AN INTRA UTERINE CONTRACEPTIVE DEVICE (IUD) FITTED USE AN EASYFLO CUP?

We recommend IUD users to check with their doctor first before using an EasyFlo cup.

WHAT ABOUT EASYFLO  CUPS AND SEX?

EasyFlo Cups do not provide any form of contraception, or any protection from sexually transmitted diseases. They should not be worn during sexual contact.
